Speaker: Jet Lendon - "Smartphone Photography"
My talk is a mixture of the people who have inspired me to take the plunge and hang up my DSLR, a selection of images shot on my phone, as well as giving some top tips on how to get the best out of your own smartphone camera. As well as showing a presentation I will be switching to my phone, which will be linked to Zoom, to show exactly how I got some of the shots.

I started my working life as a primary school teacher in the East End of London, and then retrained as a professional photographer a number of years later. Having run my corporate photography business for 13 years, I started running smartphone photography workshops alongside my ‘big camera’ corporate clients. I quickly realised that I absolutely loved the smartphone side of the business (and getting back to teaching), and less keen on the saturated market of corporate photography, so on 1 April 2020 I rebranded to Jet Black Squares and now solely run smartphone photography workshops quickly expanding throughout the country.

Speaker: Duncan & Deborah Armour - "Madagascar: The Eighth Continent"
Speaker: Duncan & Deborah Armour - "Madagascar: The Eighth Continent"
Madagascar is remarkable for its range of unique wildlife - 80% of its species of plants and animals are found here and nowhere else on earth. Perhaps most well-known of these are the many species of lemurs. This talk starts with an explanation of how this unusual and exotic diversity came to be, explores some of the local customs and modern-day people, before heading into rainforest, spiny forest, and desert in search of plants, bugs, birds, and primates. Along the way, we're happy to share tips and techniques for photography in some difficult environments.
Duncan Armour trained as a chemist and spent twenty years working in the pharmaceutical industry as a drug designer before retraining as a teacher. He has been taking photographs for 30 years using film and then digital cameras. He is passionate about wildlife and landscape photography and his head is full of a myriad of not very useful facts about both. Deborah Armour trained as a pharmacist and originally ran her own pharmacy business, before switching into hospital pharmacy for the NHS, specialising in ITU and critical care. She is equally passionate about wildlife and wild places, managing to see very different things to Duncan when stood right next to him. She is often to be found with a macro lens on the front of her camera and particularly enjoys the smaller details of life. |

Speaker: Roger Hance - "New Images - Why I Switched" Talk Info : In the ` Why I Switched` talk, I show and explain why I changed from a heavy DSLR system to a lighter Micro Four Thirds system, and I explain the reasons I did this. A lot of people think that with a smaller sensor size camera you cannot produce good quality A3 prints, so in this talk I show prints produced from the Olympus M4T system, as well as prints produced from my old Canon full frame DSLR system. The talk shows prints from Landscape, Natural History, Portraits, Sport and Live Rock Concerts. It is a mixture of colour and monochrome. Roger has been involved in photography for over 30 years. He achieved some notoriety in 1990`s in gaining FOUR Fellowships to the Royal Photographic Society, - three in the same year. He is a completely allrounder who photographs all genres of photography , although his speciality is natural history. He has many acceptances and awards in international exhibitions over the years. He is also an Ambassador for Permajet papers and a Mentor for OMD Systems (Olympus). Roger Hance's Youtube channel can be found here. |

Speaker - Eddy & Pam Lane - "In The Footsteps of Shackleton" “In the Footsteps of Shackleton” Pam Lane ARPS DPAGB EFIAP APAGB & Eddy Lane ARPS DPAGB EFIAP APAGB We are Wildlife and Travel photographers based in Wiltshire, and we love visiting some of the wildest places on earth. While we try to capture our experiences with our images, sometimes a moment is so magical that we simply put our cameras down and just take in the complete environment. We both hold the following four Photographic Awards –
We serve on the Executive of the Western Counties Photographic Federation, which represents more than 100 Photographic Societies and Camera Clubs in the South West of England. This Talk combines images from our two major expeditions to the South Atlantic visiting the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica. Penguins are present in large numbers and we show a variety of types and habitats. As well as recording the Exceptional Wildlife and the Vast Landscapes, we visit some of the sites that Shackleton visited during his epic expedition of 1914 to 1916, and these are featured throughout the talk. More than 100 years ago, Shackleton and his men were in a desperate fight for survival. On 28th October 1915 their ship Endurance (which had been trapped in ice for many months) had finally sunk – 3 lifeboats had been saved. For the next five months they were at the mercy of the Ice and the Southern Ocean until on 17th April 1916 they finally reached dry Land, Elephant Island, and brief respite............. Pam and Eddy Lane Visitors can purchase tickets here.

Speaker - Chris Hilton - “Time Travel in South East Asia”
Via Zoom.
The talk follows a journey of about a month through four countries in SE Asia in the spring of 2017 but not just a physical journey, it is also the early days of a photographic one. One that took me away from chasing the grand vista, away from the narrow constraints of camera club and salon judging and into a world that now looks very different, especially when I see it through my viewfinder.

Speaker - Jane Goodall - "The Beautiful Light"
Via Zoom.
Jane Goodall is a cardiovascular research scientist but also a photographer and a judge for the East Anglian Federation of photographers. Originally from the Oxfordshire town of Didcot she traded the open skies of the Chiltons for the wind swept Fenland landscape that has been home for the last 25 years.
Inspired by the natural landscape and captivated by the fleeting moments of changing light and tides she has been drawn to the British coast, regions that include Dorset, Cornwall, Northumbria and the Scottish islands.
Her recent work focuses on local scenes, from the majestic views of geese on Kings College lawn in the mist, to rusting old diesel pumps hiding amongst the nettles in the fenland, and the local fauna and woodlands.
She has also found subjects within the University of Cambridge’s museums that are wonderful photographic inspiration such as the bottled and preserved creatures in the Natural History Museum (See Night in the Museum on her blog).
