On 26 February, Wallingford Photographic Club took part, along with 12 other clubs, in the final competition of ‘Intimate Landscapes’. This has been held by Tring and brilliantly chaired by the Chair of Tring, Peter Cox. "An intimate scape is one in which you’re selecting and isolating a small scene that captures your interest and presents an ‘intimate feel’. It might be a smaller part of a wider scape, it might also be a smaller or close up composition that focuses on shapes, lines, colours, textures or patterns. It is a view of a scene in which any object of focus, is surrounded by its context. It can be land, sea, water or urban, but, whatever the content, it must be an ‘intimate’ scene. The challenge encourages creative submissions - close up and macro; black and white or colour; multiple exposure and other creative techniques."
There were over 60 very different images, and we are are excited to share that our club came first (by one point!) So, well done to Brian Forde for ‘Thorn scape’, Joyce Story for ‘Sand Art’, Rachel for ‘The Sky in a Sea Bubble’, David Gristwood for ‘Where Lava meets the Sea’ and Paul Ross for ‘Shadow’.
