Guidelines For Competitions Occurring Annually
Biennial Competition
This competition is for One (1) single Architecture/Travel Print only.
In Even years the competition will be for Travel and in Odd years the competition will be for Architecture.
Thus, in 2025, the competition will therefore be for one Architecture Print.
The Print can be either colour or monochrome.
The Print MUST be a new one not seen in any previous Club Competition. These would NOT then be eligible for inclusion in any Club Competitions in the following or later seasons.
The scoring for this competition will be 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Highly Commended.
The winner will be awarded The Chris Stammers Trophy.
Portfolio Competition
This competition has One (1) class for projected digital images (DPI) only. The requirement is to submit one (1) image consisting of four (4) images which must follow a single theme and work together as a group. For example you might choose to create your submission made up of 4 images of a similar subject such as public house signs or 4 still life images or 4 horse studies, 4 portraits or 4 abstracts and so on. There is no restriction or limit on the type of subject it is up to your creativity and imagination, BUT they do have to follow a theme.
Images can be those used in previous competitions, or new ones, or a combination of the two.
The images should work both as stand-alone images and as a cohesive group when all 4 are seen together. Each individual image should be numbered in the order in which they are presented in the composite image.
As for all other digital club competitions you must ensure that each image is sized following the normal convention where the width of the image should be no more than 1400 pixels and the height should be no greater than 1050 pixels.
Thus your submission should be just a single composite, which shows all 4 individual images together. These may be arranged in any order or layout you wish but again the dimensions of this composite must not exceed 1400 pixels wide by 1050 pixels in height.
The composite can be created in most software packages but if you like some help creating the composite please let a Member of the Committee know.

The naming convention for your Composite Image image is as follows:
Your Name_Title of Portfolio.jpg - This is the Composite Image.
The Winner will be awarded the Jubilee Goblet.
Some examples of composite layouts are shown at the end of this page.
End of Season Competition
The End of Season Competition is intended for Members to showcase their best work from the current season and unlike other competitions images entered into previous competitions throughout the season can be submitted. Please note however that only single images from the Portfolio Competition may be entered, NOT the composite of four (4) images.

Further, an image already used in an earlier competition and again in the Portfolio Competition, may not be used a third time in the End of Season Competition
It is also possible for completely new images to be submitted.
This is a No Set Subject Competition with three (3) classes with competitions for DPIs, Colour Prints and Monochrome Prints. You may enter a maximum of one (1) entry into each of the three classes.
The scoring by the Judge for this competition will be 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Highly Commended for each of the three (3) classes.
The Winner of each class will be awarded the following trophies:-
Colour Print: Presidents Cup
Monochrome Print: Hamilton Cup
DPI: Executive Cup
Additional Notes:
No image submitted in a previous season will be allowed in any Club Competition in the current season.
All awards will be made at The Annual General Meeting.

In addition the Chairman will award the Chairman’s Trophy to the Member who in their view has made the greatest contribution to the running of the Club during the season.
