Speaker: Joe Houghton

In this talk, Joe takes you through the fascinating process of creating a photo book.  Writing, editing, formatting and then the practicalities of getting the manuscript up onto Amazon KDP and other services - all is explained in an accessible way.
Joe has even set up his own publishing house - Sherpa Press - to help others go through the process and become authors with books on Amazon and in other outlets.

Speaker:  Julian Elliott “Uzbekistan” 

Circumnavigating Uzbekistan - Julian was commissioned to photograph the country over a three and a half-week period during August 2021. During the trip he photographed many places and people. Julian will take you on that journey and show you how he approached each subject.

Julian Elliott has been a professional landscape and travel photographer for over 10 years. Having started writing for a number of British UK photography magazines he started selling his work through the World renowned Getty Images. To date his work has sold in over 40 countries and he has travelled in nearly 40 countries capturing the world around him.

This talk investigates how images are interpreted, and how they make us feel.  

Concentrating on why a photo was taken, rather than how it was taken, it’s free from all the usual photographic jargon.  There’s plenty of opportunity for audience interaction.
